I like to look at relative performance of different assets to help me get a handle on how the markets are acting at any given point in time. Today I was researching a few beverage companies and decided to run the following comparison.
The chart below depicts the relative performance of Boston Beer Co’s stock price versus Molson Coors’. Looks to me like investors/beer drinkers are choosing “great taste” over “less filling” these days.

Now Sam Adams (Boston’s brand) is not my personal micro choice but, as a fan of microbrews in general, I like where this is headed. Hopefully, hometown favorite, Deschutes Brewery, is taking full advantage of this trend.
