So Friday was THE day, Dana Bratton garishly predicted, that would see the bottom in the housing market. The Central Oregon appraiser’s bold claim made headlines a couple of months ago when he pronounced it at a local real-estate conference.

Ironically, today Eli Broad, multi-billionaire real-estate investor and 42nd on the Forbes list, told attendees at the Milken Institute Global Conference, “I don’t think we’re anywhere near a bottom in housing.” He also told the audience he expects another 20% decline in prices from current levels.
