Last week, comdian Richard Jeni took his own life. He was one of my favorite comedians of all time – his live shows were literally painful they were so funny (those of you who also saw him live know what I mean).
His comedy, like all of the best in his business, came from his natural insight into what it means to be a human being. He also, like many of the best, suffered from severe depression. How long will it take before we start treating mental illness with the same urgency we do other illnesses?
